-) Portugal produces wine over 2000 years: it´s a very important subject of Marketing.

-) Tokaji and Sauternes produces some of the most expensive fine wines of the world using noble rot grapes.

-) Tradition says Tokaji and Sauternes have the best grapes with noble rot because of its natural weather conditions.
More than another thing, I think that is a Marketing question: so, Tokaji and Sauternes producers discourage competitors and valorize wines on the market.

-) Proud fungi always depend of temperature and humidity to thrive.
Botrytis Cinerea is a fungi: so, if we control the temperature and humidity, we can control the noble rot grapes.
With top-range greenhouses (Dutch Technology : semi-closed glasshouses : very high-cost production system), we can produce the best noble rot grapes of the world.
Unfortunately these semi-closed glasshouses are very expensive ...

-) Here in Gloria do Ribatejo (Salvaterra de Magos - Portugal), with good natural climatic conditions and a low-cost production system, I can produce high-quality noble rot grapes and PROFITABLE fine wines such as Tokaji Aszu Essencia.
